My Great Grandfather William Levi Crenshaw served in the Union army
from Kentucky in Company D, of the Twelfth Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry.
He was mustered into service on 17 November 1862 in Owensboro, Kentucky
by W. B. Royall, Captain 5th U. S. Cavalry and served for three years.
He was discharged on 2 July 1865 at Lenoir Station, Tennessee. His
original pensions claim was filed on 5 June 1888 in Boonville, Warrick
County, Indiana where he had resided since 1866.
