These individuals are descendants of John McPherson, Midshipman in
the Continental Navy. They and their line can become members of the DAR.

I am from the line of John II McPherson. It appears as Joseph and Sarah
moved, after John died, to NY, and then to Warrick County, IN.

John was a midshipman aboard the "Randolph". He was badly wounded during
the second cruise. The doctor on board was said to have saved John's
life. He was released from the "Randolph" 10 September 1777, and he
joined the Northampton Privateers.
John MCPHERSON b. August 1743-54 d. 02 August 1827 Winfield, Union
County, PA
Honorable John Macpherson died on the 2d of August 1827, at his
residence, near Winfield. He served in the navy of the Revolution, was
badly wounded, and, on that account, received a pension from the State.
He was associate judge of Northumberland county for twenty-three years.

married Elizabeth SLAYMAKER 24 March 1778., b. 1758 d. prior to 1810

marriage is on church record at the Lancaster County Historical Society
ON 04 December of 1778 John and Elizabeth began the process of
purchasing the farm of Andrew
Gibson and the ferry across form the borough of Northumberland, now
Union County, was
Northumberland County until 1813. We have a copy of the Indenture for
the land. The sale
was completed in 1785, and it cost John an extra 100 pounds.

Appears with no children in the 1810 census.

m. Charles CRAMER b. 1786 (5 Children) Charles Cramer is still living in
Union County in 1827
when John McPherosn died, John's inventory shows Charles Cramer as
receiving monies from
a band account that John must have set up for him.
