Notes for JOHN FRANKLIN COX:
Grandpa John was married once before to Sarah Catherine she died 8/28/1909.
According to family record 6 of the 11 children were at some time in Hillcrest Orphange in Evansville Indiana. The reason for this is still unknown, and everyone that knew is now deceased.2 of the 6 kids were twins and none of the kids were to be adopted out while there, well the twins were but they brought one of them back because he had a mind of his own is what they said. Aunt Toni married early so that she could get the kids out one by one, and that is what she did.
Another little tid bit is that granpa John was living with aunt Toni over by Golfmore golfcourse, well every night grandpa John would walk to the bar a drink 1 beer, people offered to buy him another one but he always said no, he only drank 1, than he would head back to the house and he would walk across the golfcourse and stop by the very first tree to pee. Aunt Toni says she would not keep beer in the house so that grandpa would have to get out and get some exercise each day. This was told to me in "1995".
