Finding Our Warrick County, IN Ancestors
As told by Rachel Baugh Mulcahy
Baugh City was built by my father, Floyd Oscar Baugh, who owned
Baugh's Barbecue, located further down Heim Road and my Uncle Albert
Baugh helped with the project. It was built, I believe, in the 1950's.
My father died in 1962, It was not a large town, more like a
subdivision. There was no mayor. There was a church, Baugh Chapel.
I cannot say the number of people who live or lived there. Maybe 500?
The last time we explored there in the 1980's the subdivision and some
families were still there. Baugh City is off Heim Road and is now
surrounded by coal mining, which bought up most of the land in the area,
including the land around Baugh's BBQ. Many people bought their
groceries at Baugh's BBQ.
