Finding Our Warrick County, IN Ancestors

ALSTON HOLDER was a tall blue eyed man of Scotch Irish descent who
came to Warrick County from Knox Co KY prior to 1829 and farmed a large
acreage. He raised many a fine horse with pride. He was the coroner of
the county of Warrick in 1824. He and wife Levinia Fowler Holder had
James, Levinia, Charlotte, Charity, and Lorenzo. In the year 1830 Levina
his wife died and Alston remarried Sarah Phelps on Aug 4, 1832.
His daughter Charlotte married Abe Jordan
His son Lorenzo married Sarah Smith
His daughter Charity married F Bullitt.
His son James was a charter member of GAR POST 262 in Ohio Twp.
His grandson JOHN P HOLDER was a prominent blacksmith using his own fine
team of horses with pride to make deliveries in the Paradise section of
Warrick Co IN. JOHN P married Polly Fuquay.
