Albright Church (aka United Methodist)

The following information has been donated to this Warrick site by J. L. Harbison.

The Albright Church was erected in 1856 and dedicated May 4, 1857. Services can be traced back to about 1850. Early immigrants from Germany established the Albright Church and Cemetery. Charter members were Heinrich Uhde (c.1796- ? ), Julius Heimroth (1797-1875), Fred Thene (1814-1899), Wilhelm Thene (1822-1873), and Friedrich Siekmann (1821-1896). The first three are all listed in this directory and Uhde is believed to have been buried here but evidence is lacking. Siekmann moved from the community in 1876 and is buried in New Harmony.

The Albright Church has experienced mergers over the years and is now known as United Methodist Church.
